Azure Blob Storage — Pilot Upload Enrollment

Set up Azure Storage Explorer to upload your LiDAR mission files to the processing team. One-time setup, about 10 minutes.

You'll need your Zenatech.com email and the connection link below. Follow the steps in order — you only do the setup once. After that, uploading a mission takes a minute.

Part A — Install Azure Storage Explorer

⬇ Download Azure Storage Explorer

Free, from Microsoft. Choose Windows (x64) for most PCs (macOS also supported — steps are the same).

1
Run the installer Open the downloaded StorageExplorer.exe from your Downloads folder. If Windows asks to allow changes, click Yes. Accept the licence, keep the default folder, click Install (takes 2–3 min).
2
Launch the app Leave "Launch Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer" ticked and click Finish. The app opens automatically.

Part B — Connect to the Upload Container

3
Open the Connect dialog In the left sidebar, click the plug icon (🔌) labelled "Connect to Azure Storage."
4
Choose the connection type Select "Blob container or directory" → then "Shared access signature URL (SAS)."
5
Paste the connection link Give the connection a display name (e.g. Pilot Upload), then paste the link below into the Blob container SAS URL field:
https://lidardataraw001.blob.core.windows.net/pilotupload?sv=2025-07-05&spr=https&st=2026-09-10T21%3A08%3A32Z&se=2027-05-01T21%3A08%3A00Z&sr=c&sp=racwdl&sig=Aml3zyXQ2MYfytudQLcwkF96xfRzhOZo0nvBaax0efc%3D
Do not share this link with anyone outside your team. It grants direct access to the upload container.
6
Review and connect Click Next, check the summary, then click Connect. The container appears in the left panel under Local & Attached → Storage Accounts.

Part C — Upload Your Mission Files

7
Upload your mission files Open the pilotupload container. Click New Folder first and name it by mission (e.g. 2026-09-Toronto-Site4), then open it and either drag and drop your folder in, or click Upload → Upload Folder and select your mission folder. Naming each mission keeps the LiDAR team's queue organised.
8
Verify the upload When the transfer finishes, your files appear in the container. Right-click a file → Properties to confirm the size matches the original. Once you can see all your files, your upload is complete — the LiDAR team is notified automatically.
If you can't see the container or get an "access denied" error, contact IT — they may need to confirm your access.
